“Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind, is written large in his works.” —Virginia Woolf

In academia the saying is “publish or perish.” I probably would have enjoyed academia because I love to write. I don’t claim to write well, I just write as part of who I am. At StartupBiz and Startup Quest, I authored dozens of guides and articles that have helped aspiring entrepreneurs to move their ventures forward. At iCopyright, I authored white papers that raised millions of dollars and articulated a vision for respecting author rights and compensating them for their works. At the Center for Innovation, I authored how-to books on writing a business plan and marketing plan — both became best sellers and were adopted for use in college classrooms around the country. Nothing gives me more gratification than people deriving value from my writings. I will never write the great American novel, but as long as my fingertips can grace a keyboard, I hope to be crafting words that inform and inspire others.
